ether.fi recalculates September Membership points from Cash spending
From September 15, eligible Cash Card spend earns 1,000 Membership points per $1,000. ether.fi applied the rate to earlier September spend, so some displayed monthly point totals fell.
The essentials
Update facts
- Points per $1,000 of eligible Cash spend
- 1,000
- Rate effective date
- September 15
- Points reset period
- Monthly
Points are separate from cashback
- ether.fi applied the new Cash-spend rate to eligible activity already accrued in September 2026. Previously displayed point totals may decrease.
- Membership points reset monthly and can help qualify for a membership level. Other routes include eligible Liquid balances, staked ETHFI and paid annual memberships where offered.
- This change does not alter the separate card-cashback rate or turn Membership points into cash.
What changed in the September count
ether.fi gives an example of 9,999 previously displayed Cash-spend points becoming 3,333 after recalculation. The company says the points update was announced on August 13 and took effect on September 15.
The Cash Card profile already used the 1,000-points-per-$1,000 rate. This article explains the retroactive September adjustment and the distinction between points and cashback.
