What launched
Oobit has introduced contactless cash withdrawals for its virtual Visa card. A verified user can approach a supported NFC-enabled ATM, tap the phone that holds the card and complete the withdrawal with the card PIN available inside the Oobit app.
The withdrawal draws from the user’s Oobit balance. The flow does not require a physical Oobit card or a bank account linked specifically for the cash withdrawal.
Where it can work
The feature is offered across Oobit’s supported markets, but that wording is not a guarantee that every country, device or ATM is covered. The user still needs a compatible phone, an NFC-enabled ATM that accepts the contactless card flow and access permitted under local requirements.
Identity verification is required. Cardholders should also check the ATM screen and the Oobit app before confirming, because the launch announcement does not establish one universal operator surcharge or total withdrawal cost.
Limits to know
Oobit states that a single contactless ATM withdrawal can be up to $250 and that each card can make no more than three withdrawals per calendar day. A compatible ATM may impose a lower machine, currency or local limit.
The product update expands the ways an Oobit balance can be used, but it does not make the virtual card universally available. Regional availability and card fees still apply.
