What USD Reserve is
USD Reserve is a separate ledger balance inside KAST. Users move eligible dollars from USD Spending into Reserve, where qualifying balances accrue promotional cashback daily and can be moved back when needed.
The legal terms distinguish Reserve from KAST’s USD Prime and Gauntlet vault products. KAST expressly says the programme is not interest, APY or yield and can change or stop the reward rate.
Rates and membership tiers
During the boosted period, Standard receives 6%, Premium up to 9% on the first $50,000 and Private up to 12% on the first $200,000. Premium and Private balances above their caps receive 6% during the promotion.
After the boost, KAST currently lists 4% for Standard, up to 6% for Premium and up to 8% for Private, with 4% above the paid-tier caps. These remain discretionary cashback rates rather than guaranteed returns.
How it interacts with the card
Reserve is card-adjacent rather than a standalone DeFi vault. The terms allow the balance to serve as a later funding source for eligible KAST Card transactions after other designated sources are exhausted.
Rewards are typically credited to USD Spending at the end of the day. Moving funds out, requesting a transfer or placing the balance on hold can stop reward tracking for that amount.
