Solid adds EURC-funded euro spending for Wirex cards
Eligible Wirex cardholders can enable an EUR balance funded with EURC on Base. EUR purchases have no product FX fee when that balance covers the whole purchase, or when eligible soUSD Credit mode applies.
The essentials
Update facts
- EUR balance funding
- EURC on Base
- Qualifying EUR purchase FX
- 0%
- Rain cards excluded
- Wirex only
Conditions and limits
- Enable EURC spending in the app and send EURC on Base to the Solid Wallet address, not the Savings vault.
- The EUR balance must cover the whole EUR purchase. Otherwise the entire payment uses USD pricing, unless eligible Credit mode applies with sufficient collateral and borrowing capacity.
- Bank EUR deposits still load the dollar balance. EUR yield is not live; non-EUR purchases retain ordinary tier FX terms.
Two qualifying EUR payment paths
A sufficiently funded EURC-backed EUR balance is used first for EUR purchases. Eligible soUSD Credit mode can also avoid product FX on EUR purchases, subject to collateral and borrowing capacity.
The card does not split an underfunded EUR purchase between EUR and USD. Without a qualifying zero-FX path, the whole purchase uses the USD route and its applicable tier charges. Ordinary charges remain 1% from the card provider plus Solid's tier markup of 1%, 0.5% or 0%.
Refunds and funding limits
Wirex cards only, after enabling EURC spending; Rain/US cards excluded. EURC on Base goes to the Solid Wallet, not the Savings vault. A EUR balance must cover the whole EUR purchase; insufficient balance falls back for the entire purchase to USD pricing, unless eligible Credit mode applies. Bank EUR deposits still load the dollar balance. EUR yield is not live; refunds go to the USD balance in USDC at the purchase exchange rate.
